Coronavirus has turned down all the stances even on the social media platforms. Facebook will allow advertisers to promote non-medical masks as they have banned ads for masks on its platform in March when the coronavirus was touching the heights of its dead end.

Rob Leathern, Facebook’s director of product management, said in a blog post that “Many health authorities now advise wearing non-medical masks – and in some places masks are required for activities like taking public transportation or visiting a store – and we’ve seen people and businesses of all sizes working to fill this need.”

Facebook is all set to allow the advertisers to promote non-medical masks initiating Wednesday.

Facebook has revealed its response in the March when the coronavirus has hit down the base of almost all countries and said that they would prohibit ads for medical face masks like N95 oxygen mask. The prohibition of medical masks like face covers and bandanas were also reported.

Company also revealed that “this was an effort to guard against dodges, misleading medical claims, medical supply shortages, hoarding and inflated prices, practices that proliferated across digital ad networks and online stores as people tried to buy masks to protect against the coronavirus — along with scammers trying to profit off them.”

In Mid-March company revealed another statement that the medical equipment like hand sanitizer, surface disinfecting wipes and Covid-19 test kits who are using as in the COVID-19 diagnosis and precautionary measures would never be allowed to advertise.

But now Facebook claims that they are allowing the advertisement of medical precautionary equipment by the non-medical marketers. The company said non-medical masks include those that are handmade, reusable, created out of household fabrics or refashioned materials. 

In relevance to promote non-medical masks, there is a compulsion on company that they would have at least last four months’ record of advertising on Facebook. Meanwhile, it would be a way to keep a track record.

Firstly, it was suggested by different medical and health communities that for healthy people it does not need to buy the masks so the shortage of equipment can be optimized. But changing stances have developed a sense that following precautionary measures, wearing masks are the parallel necessaries to do.

This Covid-19 created a big challenge for online advertising companies that have been majorly criticized in last years for allowing the awareness information, majorly and largely relatives to political and balloting issues.
