Microsoft is constantly tweaking Windows 10 to make it better. Some of these adjustments have worked out better than others. A Weather and News widget has been added to the taskbar, although you may not like it. It’s thankfully simple to turn off.

In June 2020, the “News and Interests” widget will be available on Windows 10 PCs. When it appears, it’s difficult to miss. In a small box adjacent to the clock and notification area, you’ll see a weather prediction. When you select the widget, a panel appears with further weather information, stocks, sports scores, news, and more.

You don’t want a Bing-powered weather and news widget on your taskbar, do you? It’s no problem; getting rid of it is simple. Click on the Weather Update. Click on the “three dots” and select the “More Settings” option.

By clicking on the more setting opinion it will redirect to the Microsoft Webpage. Choose the “Experience Setting” option. Choose “Weather” and it will display more settings.

Choose the weather option and if it’s blue it means it is turned on. You’ll keep on receiving weather updates.

Turn it “off” and you’ll not receive the notifications or updates anymore.
