Microsoft has contributed a lot in this lockdown by featuring its applications such as Microsoft Teams and much more even the pandemic is ongoing. It is featuring a new upcoming Edge Chromium Browser. The major first big addition is ‘IE Mode” for the edge that will allow business people to use Internet Explorer as a search engine. Microsoft is developing IE mainly and directly for the business stances so that they could search directly their sites by this rather than using the conventional methods.
Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore spoke in an interview with The Verge that “What we’re going to do is make this totally seamless.” Presently, the previous version of Edge will be open IE 11 on Windows 10 which contains a separate interface, view mode, favorites, and properly do not work on modern websites.
Apart from the small IE logo on the tab will indicate that you are using this theme and version. It will load the content within Edge.
Looking forward to the combination of Chrome and Internet Explorer, Joe suggests that it will create a big pitch for business people while using Edge Chromium.
“We’ve got a browser for you that updates regularly that will go on Windows 7 and the Mac that handles things like IT customization of the New Tab page and Microsoft Search, and IE built-in,” says Belfiore.
In this version, you can customized your company logo, the option to load favorite sites and their themes into the top tabs and majorly, and most importantly the integration with Office 365 and Microsoft Search.
As these features are targeting the business world, Microsoft has built a new collection of features for Edge Chromium. That would be the most interesting feature so far and it’s been designed for web users to collect images, text, top sites, and the relevant information from the internet sea into a note. The link to such collections will even refer you back to the original website where you found them.
An interesting thing I have seen so far is that it seems super useful if you’re collecting information about a big purchase, as you’ll be able to export to a list in Excel that can be sorted by price. Like as a teacher or a student if you collect information from somewhere it will cite those places and articles you got the data.
“We’re going to give you, the user, control over your privacy and try to explain in a way that’s clear,” elucidates Belfiore.
CEO Satya Nadella, repeatedly focusing on the say that “Microsoft is also focusing on privacy enhancements to Edge, specifically on blocking web trackers that follow you on the web. Microsoft has been on a privacy mission in recent years.”
In its incognito mode, Microsoft has added a cool feature that if you use this mode, nothing will be tracked. “We have some initial ideas that we think are pretty good,” “We like this general approach, but there’s a lot of detail,” admits Belfiore.
It’s not clear when we will be able to get all these features but Microsoft has stated the statement they will put their all efforts in this regard to letting this technology in the market on earlier possibilities. If you’re testing Edge Canary, then you’ll be among the first to try out any of these new features, even if Microsoft hides them behind a settings flag. Let’s wait for this boom feature by Microsoft.
